Noam Chomsky - American linguist, political journalist, philosopher and theoretician, institute professor of linguistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, author of many books, articles, scientific works on linguistics, philosophy, history of science, modern issues, international problems and human rights, author of the classification of formal languages, called the Chomsky hierarchy. His work on generative grammars made a significant contribution to the decline of behaviorism and contributed to the development of cognitive sciences.
